Helen Hong

    Helen has a Bachelor of Music in Performance degree from the University of Toronto and was a postgraduate student of renowned violinist/concertmaster Rodney Friend (London, England). She was the Associate Concertmaster of the Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra and has performed with numerous other orchestras including Sinfonia Toronto, Toronto Concert Orchestra, Toronto Philharmonia, Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony, and the World Rock Symphony Orchestra.

    Internationally she has performed with Sinfonia Toronto in concert tours of the United States, South America (Peru, Argentina, and Uruguay) and China. She has also performed for the Canada Walk of Fame Gala, Luminato Festival, Nuit Blanche, and in musicals such as the Toronto Productions of Anne of Green Gables and Phantom of the Opera. In addition to performing for popular artists such as Rod Stewart, Andrea Bocelli, Il Divo, Seth MacFarlane, Diana Krall, Canadian Tenors, and the Moody Blues, Helen has recorded for films, television commercials, and music albums for Hallmark Canada and Fisher Price.

    Off-stage, she is highly experienced in arts management as a result of her five-year role as Orchestra Manager of the Toronto Concert Orchestra and is a dedicated music educator, currently maintaining a busy teaching schedule at the Hamilton School of Music.
