Christine is a pianist and piano teacher, based in Hamilton, Ontario.
From a young age, Christine has been playing the piano at various recitals, competitions, and festivals. She first began performing at age 4, in front of her local church. Her most notable performance was at the Rotary Burlington Music Festival in 2015, coming in second place in the Grade 10 RCM 20th-21st Century Repertoire category. She performed as a pianist in a pit orchestra for McMaster Musical Theatre’s production of Stephen Sondheim’s Company, performing 9 shows during the February and March 2019 season. Christine has also performed in coffee houses for various clubs, talent shows at school, and school band performances, and played a few wedding gigs, with a wide repertoire of classical, pop, rock, gospel, and Christian contemporary music.
Christine holds an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Music from McMaster University and has 10 years of teaching experience, working with students of all ages. She also holds a Level 10 piano certificate from the Royal Conservatory of Music and is an RCM-certified piano teacher. She aims for her students to build a solid foundation in understanding the music they are learning, improving their musical abilities, and applying them to songs they would love to learn. She also prepares her students for performing opportunities such as recital performances, preparing for competitions and festivals, and the RCM piano examinations. Besides teaching and playing piano, she enjoys listening to music, learning languages, biking, and reading.
