Christine Nguyen

Christine is a pianist and piano teacher, based in Hamilton, Ontario.

From a young age, Christine has performed on the piano at various recitals, competitions, and festivals. In fact, she first began performing at the age of four, in front of her local church. Her most notable performance was at the Rotary Burlington Music Festival in 2015, coming in second place in the Grade 10 RCM 20th-21st century Repertoire category. She performed as a pianist in a pit orchestra for McMaster Musical Theatre’s production of Stephen Sondheim’s Company, performing nine shows during the February and March 2019 season. Christine has also performed in coffee houses for various clubs, talent shows, school band performances, and played in a few wedding gigs, with a wide repertoire of classical, pop, rock, gospel, and Christian contemporary music.

Christine holds an Honours Bachelor Degree of Music at McMaster University with ten years of teaching experience, teaching students of all ages. She also holds a grade 9 piano certificate from the Royal Conservatory of Music. She aims for her students to build a solid foundation in understanding the music they are learning, as well as improving their musical abilities, and applying them to songs they would love to learn. She also prepares her students for performing opportunities such as recital performances, preparing for competitions and festivals, and for the RCM piano examinations.

Besides teaching and playing piano, she enjoys listening to music, learning languages, biking, and reading.
